Catholics are obliged to participate in mass each Sunday (or Saturday vigil) as well as on Holy Days of Obligation. Mass times for Holy Days usually vary depending on the day of the week but typically there will be a vigil mass and three holy day masses (much like we do each weekend). The mass schedule for each Holy Day will be published in the bulletin and on the website leading up to the Holy day.
Holy days of Obligation are Solemnities, meaning they are high feast days in the Church year, and as such are causes for great rejoicing and also rest, just as we are to treat each Sunday. Holy days of Obligation in the United States include:
